BUILDING BLOCKS

Purpose

Call it what you like- raison d’être, ikigai, get up and go– but having a sense of purpose, a goal or just simply a reason to get out of bed can help your brain, help you feel better and help you live longer.

Having a goal has been shown to help your brain cells function and build up your brains cognitive reserve- brain cells and the connections between them.

Evidence has shown that in adults 65-92 years, having a clearly defined purpose can help seven good years longer.

Who will ever forget the inspirational efforts of Sir Captain Tom Moore who showed us all that it is never to late to find a sense of purpose and set a goal for yourself
